State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the area, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with continued storm activity anticipated across different parts of both areas.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the current weather patterns.
